Buck Up: The USA Is Doing Great

Seems to me that if you look at the truth (not the media's idea, but what is REALLY happening)the Republicans have a LOT to run on in this mid-term election that's coming up.

The economy is thriving -- on an errand-jaunt around town I can't ignore the "help wanted" signs posted all over the place. An article in the KC Star recently decried the fact that a large company was trying to open a branch here and having trouble finding employees.

And look at the terrorist record! Not a single attack on American citizens since 2002. Compare that with the previous administration:

1993
January 25: Mir Aimal Kansi, a Pakistani, fires an AK-47 assault rifle into cars waiting at a stoplight in front of the Central Intelligence Agency headquarters. Two died.
February 26: World Trade Center bombing kills 6 and injures over 1000 people.
1995
April 19: Oklahoma City bombing kills 168 people, 19 of them children; the most deadly act of domestic act of terrorism the United States to date.
October 9: An Amtrak Sunset Limited train is derailed by anti-government saboteurs near Palo Verde, Arizona.
November 13: Bombing of military compound in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

June 25: Khobar Towers bombing -- In all, 19 U.S. servicemen and one Saudi were killed and 372 wounded.
On July 17, 1996 TWA Flight 800 exploded in the evening sky off Long Island and plunged into the Atlantic, killing all 230 people aboard. The government denies eyewitness accounts and evidence from the crash that the aircraft was shot down by a surface-to-air missile.
July 27: Centennial Olympic Park bombing, killing one and wounding 111.

February 24: An armed man opens fire on tourists at an observation deck atop the Empire State Building in New York City, United States, killing a Danish national and wounding visitors from the United States, Argentina, Switzerland and France before turning the gun on himself.
1998
August 7: U.S. embassy bombings in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and Nairobi, Kenya, killing 225 people and injuring more than 4,000.

USS Cole bombing was a suicide bombing attack against the U.S. Navy guided missile destroyer USS Cole (DDG 67) on October 12, 2000

September 11- attack on World Trade Center in NYC.
September 18-November- 2001 anthrax attacks. Letters tainted with anthrax kill five across the United States. Still a question as to whether or not this was a terrorist attack.
2002 July 4- Hesham Mohamed Hadayet, a 41-year-old Egyptian national, kills 2 Israelis and wounds 4 others at the El Al ticket counter at Los Angeles International Airport. The FBI concluded this was terrorism.

Yes, there's a war in Iraq. And in spite of the fact that the media discredit it by denying it over and over again (an old Nazi tactic "if you tell a lie often enough, people will believe it"), there WAS a link between Hussein and Al Quaeda and President Bush knew about it. He also knew a lot of other things that the media and the American people do NOT know, and SHOULD NOT know.

America continues to be blessed, in spite of what our detractors here and abroad would have us believe. Hey, if we weren't, would all those immigrants still be swarming to our shores from all over the world? I think not.
